The Southeast Math Modeling and Reasoning in-person training was held on January 26, 2024, at the Gallia-Vinton ESC. Topics included statistics-themed lessons such as Misusing Statistics, Flinging Frogs, and M&M's Sampling Distribution. Districts teaching this course were required to participate in the accompanying professional development opportunities. Participant Wendy McNeal stated that “MMR is a great way to get students up and involved in math.  Students that have previously not been successful in math find great success in this class.  My favorite part is when I see a student who has previously not been successful in a traditional math class be the first one to complete a task and be able to share out to the class how they solved the task."
